Gokarna Harvest Festival

During our stay at Gokarna, we had heard a few members of staff at restaurants talking about the Harvest festival. Everyone seemed pretty excited about it, and so a group of us decided that we were going to go down and see what all the fuss was about. It was quite strange, with loads of floats with Thai men acting out scenes to show their political and other views. It was made weirder by no women being on the floats, so men were dressed as women and looked quite comical, but wanted to convey a serious message. It was pretty difficult to understand the messages they were trying to get across, especially with Adam & Eve type characters on one flat, and a dragon-man breathing fire on the next. I can't really say much more, so here are a load of photos that will hopefully explain the evening for me!
